This book has the recipe of one of my favorite breakfast food: "Orange-Cranberry Scones" on pg. 96. I'm just happy that this diet's 30-days meal plans allow me to have my favorite scone for breakfast.  As a dieting cookbook, I'm surprised to see that there is no nutritional analysis at the bottom of each recipe. I'm reading this book because the plumbing in my home is having problems recently. I just want to read up to understand what's behind my toilets so I won't be clueless and ripped off by the plumbers.

I love this magazine because it has a lot of beautiful artworks (like the one on the cover), great advice and also beautiful photos.  I enjoy reading the articles very much, but strangely none of the articles show the names and bio of the authors.  Before this magazine, I had never seen a magazine article that doesn't show the name of the author. I read this book in my local library.  It provides lots of good ideas on organizing. But my major clutters are books and magazines,  and despite all the good advices of this book. I used to buy a magazine everytime when I visited the bookstore. But the covid pandemic had miraculously treated my magazine purchase addition. I had not bought one single magazine during 2021. If I saw the above magazine in the bookstore with my latte in hand, I would have bought the magazine because the cover is so beautiful. But since I had stepped into the bookstore only once during 2021, I didn't have the chance to buy the above magazine. But I was reading in during one of my recent visit to my local library. My friends asked me why I just didn't subscribe to the magazine because it was cheaper than buying issue per issue. But I hate the address label on a magazine so much. I can't explain why. I just hate it. Besides, the cover of the subscription issues are somehow of much lower quality than the issues at the newsstand. I still have a gigantic pile of magazines on my bookshelf, from previous years. But I'm proud that I haven't increased the size of my magaz

 

I stumbled upon this book on a book trolley. Actually, do I need this book nowadays when homes are sold quickly with bidding wars?  But I am reading it now because I'm curious about the "quick fixes". My Reading Notes : "Homes on the market for more than a month or so tend to be considered "stale"."  pg. vii.  So does that mean if I want to buy a house at a bargain price, I should look for listings that have been more than one month old?   "Buyers form a first impression of a home as soon as they drive up. If that first impression is good, the house is half sold. If it's bad, then you/your agent will spend the next half hour trying to reverse that bad impression." pg. 3.   My condo complex has very good curb appeal. It's just that the interor of  my unit is cluttered with books, and is not appealing. This is why I'm trying to sell and give away my books and magazines here.

One of my  favorite quotes from this book: "When life offers you a dream so far beyond any of your expectations, it's not reasonable to grieve when it comes to an end." pg 1. I had just picked up this book from my local library because the movie is now on Netflix, and I want to read the book first before I watch the moive.  I haven't read the book yet and I haven't watched the movie yet either.  I just never had the time to read the book since I heard my friends and siblings talk about it back in 2005.  It sounds like a lifetime ago, but to me, it felt like yesterday. I own a lot of books but I don't know how I never bought this one. So, do you have a copy of this book on your bookshelf?  If not, why not? My thought on Chapter One: After reading the first chapter of this book, I can see the appeal of the story to young adults  back in 2005, back before 'The Vampire's Diaries' became the hit TV series that got me hooked to my TV week after week.   R

 This book is very enjoyable and engaging to kids.  The colorful and fun illustration introduce young children to a lot of the tools that are commonly used in the household's maintenance and improvement projects.  This book makes the shopping errands in the local hardware store a lot more fun and interesting to the kids.  This book is both fun and educational. I highly recommend. P.S.
